Having experienced recurrent miscarriages I was advised to have a hysteroscopy. I found Mr Pickersgill to be friendly and empathetic. He helped me understand my options and clearly explained the risks and benefits for each. He listened to my concerns and reassured me ahead of the procedure. During the procedure he levelled out my C-section scar which was causing some build up of fluid. At my post op appointment he talked through potential ways of improving my chances of becoming pregnant and was very kind as he listened to the impact of some of the post op hormones. Overall, even though I only met him a handful of times I found him reassuring and supportive, the procedure and aftercare have been excellent

I was referred to Mr Pickersgill from the Nuffield hospital in Chester and the treatment I received was outstanding. I had been suffering with adenomyosis and endometriosis for quite some time. I had consultations with Mr Pickersgill to discuss my options in detail. He answered all my questions and was very reassuring every step of the way. I decided to proceed with a partial hysterectomy which went well. I am now pain free thanks to Mr Pickersgill’s skills and expertise. I would recommend him to anyone who has been suffering with gynaecological pain.

One of the loveliest and most genuinely caring consultants ever. I have seen Mr Pickersgill both privately and on the NHS his care is the same regardless. He listens carefully to patients concerns and takes on board your wants/needs without pushing for things you don't want or fobbing you off like other surgeons! He is kind, compassionate and human! A huge thank you for being so lovely during my recent surgery at St Mary's and holding my hand during anaesthetic after my anxieties taking over! Would recommend without doubt!

I suffered a miscarriage a year ago and continued to bleed for three months following that. My own doctors knowledge and help in getting to the root cause of this was shocking. Finally the bleeding stopped through medication but I wasn't managing to fall pregnant. Upon a visit to an ultrasound business ('Starlight' which I also highly recommend) the sonographer told me about Dr Pickersgill. I got an appointment within a couple of weeks and my experience with him was great. He was understanding, he listened, I didn't feel rushed and he was assertive in what would be the best step to move forward. He advised me to have a hysteroscopy to check that there was no damage to my uterus before trying other routes first. Otherwise, it could potentially waste time if I found out later, that it was my lining. I had the hysteroscopy and the whole experience, including the procedure itself, was such a breeze. Thankfully, he found no damage and instead suggested to take estrogen/progesterone to level my hormones out. To my absolute surprise, I got a positive pregnancy test the very first month of taking the medication! I would highly recommend this doctor and can't thank him enough for achieving a result the NHS potentially could have taken years to achieve, had I of waited.

After a miscarriage that required two surgical procedures to resolve, I had concerns about Asherman’s syndrome and my future fertility. I extensively researched doctors and found Mr Pickersgill was the most highly recommended for the condition outside of London. Soon after my initial consultation with him I was booked in for a hysteroscopy which came back clear. As I was still struggling to conceive we did some further investigations and decided to go ahead with a laparoscopy. Again, this was booked in very quickly and Mr Pickersgill found and excised some endometriosis. The following cycle I finally fell pregnant and I cannot thank him enough for all the support and advice he has given me this year. The care I have received at all my consultations and during both procedures was second to none and I am so grateful to him and his team. If I have any issues in the future I will certainly be returning to him.
